One of the main rewards of being a Dog Trainer is to help a dog transition from being a street dog or a shelter dog with a horrible past, to being part of a loving home. Working closely with foster families or families who have newly adopted a dog is a crucial step to help ease this transition for a dog who has to regain trust in people.

Is she big-boned or maybe it’s all fur? One of the more difficult issues for us trainers to address is the weight, or the overweight, of our clients’ pets. Some owners will be a bit sensitive to the matter, perceiving it as criticism to how their pet’s health is being handled or, at times, as an insinuation of their pets being spoiled.
